Lexmark International Inc (NYSE: LXK) surged 10.10 percent to $38.16. The volume of Lexmark International shares traded was 6398 percent higher than normal. Lexmark confirmed it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by a consortium of investors, led by Apex Technology and PAG Asia Capital for $40.50 per share.

VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) shares climbed 13.45 percent to $58.38. The volume of VMware shares traded was 384 percent higher than normal. VMware reported better-than-expected Q1 earnings. The company's board of directors also authorized a $1.2 billion share buyback program.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE: KKD) shares rose 5.05 percent to $17.06. The volume of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts shares traded was 304 percent higher than normal. • Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will replace Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc (NASDAQ: PNK) in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Friday, April 22.

Manhattan Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) shares moved up 13.67 percent to $66.86. The volume of Manhattan Associates traded was 233 percent higher than normal. Manhattan Associates reported better-than-expected Q1 results.
